This decades-old cha chaan teng serves seriously good Cantonese fare, like braised fish belly with rice (椒鹽班腩飯) for $54. The chopped chili or tomato-based version comes with iced milk tea or hot lemon tea—comfort food at its finest. While modest, the setting is special: familiar faces and old-time regulars greet you—it's a close-knit vibe of long-time locals. For a taste of Hong Kong history, this no-frills joint delivers. The affordable, quality cooking deserves a Michelin local food award for preserving culinary heritage.
